CTEA Rocky Mountain Region Conference 2015
The CTEA Board of Directors hope the beginning of your school year has started out on a positive note. We are sure that you all are getting into the “teaching groove” and are now beginning to think about professional growth opportunities. One such opportunity is upon us – the 2015 CTEA Annual Conference on October 22 – 23, 2015.
Due to the continued growth of our CTEA membership, we have had to move venues this year. The 2015 CTEA Annual Conference will now be held at Colorado Adventure Point, 10455 West Sixth Avenue, Suite 150, Denver, CO 80215. This venue provides the perfect balance of classroom presentations, interactive labs, “fun” areas, and vendor space. We look forward to what this new venue brings us!!
This year we have the honor of having Kim Bevill to be our keynote speaker. She will be discussing “Gender and Motivation: Secrets that Motivate Males and Females.” Kim is a highly respected keynote speaker, conference organizer, staff developer and graduate level instructor. She was a high school history and IB psychology teacher for 14 years, but eventually joined forces with educators who strive to stop the drop out phenomenon. Kim is a master at training educators on the applicable neuroscience and the instructional strategies that work for anyone with a brain! Kim draws on groundbreaking research and hands-on experience to bring high performance results. Don’t miss this great opportunity to hear a renowned speaker who is known for getting everyone engaged. Register today!
In addition to having Kim Bevill speak, we will also have the great Doc Carter presenting his wood turning magic on Friday, October 23, 2015. And returning to the CTEA Conference after an extended hiatus, TEECA studentsfrom Fort Hayes and University of Wyoming will be back working on competitions throughout the Conference. Come see our future STEM educators in action!
The CTEA Annual Conference is an opportunity for career and technical education/STEM/Tech Ed/Industrial Arts teachers to gather, exchange ideas, learn new tips and techniques, and to celebrate professional accomplishments. Details about the conference are available here.
Call for Presenters
This year’s conference theme is "Teaching for Tomorrow Today". We would like to encourage those of you that have implemented something that has rigorously engaged your school’s students in both academic and CTE courses to come share your accomplishment as a presenter at the CTEA Conference. Help us create a great conference and volunteer to present. Remember, by presenting at the Conference, you will meet the “leadership” component of the state Teacher Evaluation form. In addition, if you are chosen to be a presenter, you will receive a $25 discount on your registration fee.
If you have a great project/technique/lesson, your fellow CTE educators would love for you to share it. Your presentation would last between 45 to 55 minutes. Register to be a presenter here. If you have any questions about presenting, please contact Ben Nuebel at [email protected].
